WAYNE COUNTY A county in the south-east part of the state -- has an area of 670 square miles. It is intersected in the east part by the Little Wabash river, in the south-west part by the Skillet fork of that river, and also drained by Elm creek. The county is extensively covered with forests, and contains prairies of moderate size. The soil is productive. Indian corn, oats, potatoes, cattle, pork and butter are the staples.
