CENTERVILLE  The county seat of Reynolds county, on the west fork of Black river, 120 miles from St. Louis, and 150 from Jefferson City. This town was first settled in the year 1847 by Mr. Fox, and in 1852 a post office established. The chief products of the county are corn, wheat, oats, tobacco and rye; the minerals, silver, copper, lead and iron; and the timber, pine, oak and walnut. Centerville contains one church viz. Baptist, one high school, a common school, two stores, one dealer in agricultural implements, two attorneys at law, one blacksmith one brickyard, one general store, and one hotel.  County Sheriff, I.
