BRUNSWICK, a town of Chariton county, on the Missouri River, near the mouth of the Grand river, 299 from St. Louis, and 125 miles from Jefferson City.  It contains about 25 stores of various kinds, a branch of the Merchants Bank of St Louis, and two newspaper offices, viz.: the Brunswick Press, published by Oscar D. Dawkins, and the Central City and Brunswicker, published by R.C. Hancock.  Population 3,000. (The Missouri State Gazetteer and Business Directory, 1860)
