IONIA COUNTY, situated toward the westerly part of Michigan, and traversed by Grand river. Area, 576 square miles. Soil generally productive. Seat of justice, Ionia. Pop. in 1840, 1,923; in 1850, 7,597. (Fanning's, 1853)
