PITSFIELD, p-v., capital of Pike co. Ill., 70 w. s. w. Springfield, 850 W. Situated on elevated ground, midway between the Illinois and Mississippi rivers. PITTSFIELD, A neat thriving post village, capital of Pike county, on a prairie, 70 miles west by south from Springfield. It is surrounded by a rich fanning country, diversified by prairies and timbered lands. It contains a court house, several churches, and two newspaper offices. Population, about 1,200.
