RICHLAND COUNTY Is situated in the east-south-east part of the state, and has an area of about 310 square miles. The Little Wabash river touches the south-west extremity. Fox creek flows through the county, from north to south; it is also drained by Boupas creek. The surface is undulating, and the soil productive. The county contains a large proportion of prairie. Corn, wheat, oats, potatoes and pork are the staples. It contains several churches, a newspaper office, and has about 450 pupils attending public schools. Capital, Olney. Population, about 9,000.
