MORE THAN 400 PEOPLE (A-Z)
(Links go to relevant escapes)
Although much of the information about individual freedom seekers is fragmentary and usually passed along through the lens of runaway advertisements placed by enslavers, we are still able to identify over 400 Missouri freedom seekers by at least first name and sometimes with other characteristics, such as age or family relations (out of about 1,500 recorded runaways within this database). We have presented the names here grouped by escape and alphabetized by full name when available or first name if not.
